Sold in Valley Ridge...Listen to your Customers

Dear Salespeople, please listen to your customers.

In the midst of the C19 lockdown we received an inquiry through our website from a couple wanting to view our listing in Valley Ridge. We explained the C19 protocols we have in place and asked a number of qualifying questions (9, actually). They let me know they had been self-isolating for about a month, were practicing social distancing and would appreciate if I respected their distance as well. I assured them we were on the same page.

A couple more emails later we found out they were downsizing, had sold their acreage 90 mins outside of town and were planning on seeing our listing and another condo in the Currie Barracks at the same time. We made an appointment to view the condo the next day.

The showing went well and by dinner time the following day we had a conditional offer in place. A few days later they were back in town for their inspection.

When I asked how the other condo was their mood changed. They told me the Realtor showing the unit in the Currie Barracks had (somewhat rudely) dismissed their request for social distancing, was not wearing gloves or a mask and they were quite put off. So put off they weren’t comfortable viewing the suite and left without seeing it.

Because this salesperson didn’t listen/ask questions/care about the customers concerns they lost the chance at a sale and their clients condo remains unsold. This is not business as usual. With the new economy brings new concerns and new responsibilities for us as salespeople; please don’t forget that
